Annual Surveillance Summary

Wednesday 10th February 2010

The purpose of the Annual Surveillance Summary is to produce a summary of the distribution of communicable diseases of public health importance in New Zealand.

Surveillance data for non-infectious yet notifiable conditions such as lead absorption are also reported.

The report focuses on the distribution of these diseases and longer-term incidence. It aims to disseminate information to those who need it to support prevention and control measures.

The notifiable disease datasets on which these reports were based can be downloaded in a variety of formats (including Excel) from the NZPHO website.
