Summary

The number of isolates (n = 121) received this month showed a decrease in comparison to the numbers received in March 2009 (n = 171). The predominant serotype this month was Salmonella Enteritidis phage type 9a (11% this month, 5% in March 2009). An increase in S. Stanley was observed this month. Uncommon New Zealand serotypes identified this month included S. Isangi (3 human isolates since 2002).
